The practice of cupping involves the application and maneuvering of suctioning cups, each of which creates a vacuum against the skin. These cups are acrylic and can be used on dry skin or with oil. This treatment is most commonly used to relieve pain and tension, but it is helpful in treating an array of conditions, as well as effectively promoting general wellness and balance. Cupping, when performed by a licensed practitioner, is a completely safe treatment for most people. It is possible to experience slight discomfort during treatment, but cupping should not be painful. You may notice increased fatigue following your session. This is an indication of the body’s natural detoxification process and should subside quickly. Other side effects are temporary and may include painless skin discoloration, soreness and dizziness. This service may leave red/purple circles on the skin.
