Medical Treatment for Seromas

Treatment depends on size and severity and may include:

• observation and monitoring
• compression
• aspiration (fluid removal) by a physician or nurse

👉 This is a medical procedure, not lymphatic therapy.

What MLD Can and Cannot Do

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) may -

✔ reduce surrounding swelling
✔ support fluid movement
✔ assist the body in reabsorption

However -

👉 MLD does NOT directly remove a seroma

Important Safety Reminder

✖ no needles
✖ no fluid extraction
✖ no draining through incisions

These are outside the scope of lymphatic therapy.
