Treatment depends on size and severity and may include:
• observation and monitoring
• compression
• aspiration (fluid removal) by a physician or nurse
👉 This is a medical procedure, not lymphatic therapy.
What MLD Can and Cannot Do
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) may -
✔ reduce surrounding swelling
✔ support fluid movement
✔ assist the body in reabsorption
However -
👉 MLD does NOT directly remove a seroma

✖ no fluid extraction
✖ no draining through incisions
