What Is Lymphoma?

Lymphoma is a cancer that begins in lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell that plays a critical role in immune function.

The two primary categories of lymphoma are -


Hodgkin Lymphoma

Everything else that was a lymphoma but did not have Reed-Sternberg cells was grouped under the broad category of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.


Today -

  • Hodgkin lymphoma accounts for roughly 10% of lymphomas.
